Isle
of Capri Headquarters to Move
As reported by the Kansas City
Star: "International corporate headquarters
for Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. will relocate
to St. Louis from Hurricane Katrina-battered
Biloxi, Miss.
"'We
have notified our employees that we're looking
at St. Louis and have given them 60 days to
let us know whether they are going with us,'
Isle president Timothy M. Hinkley said Monday.
"The
company also considered Kansas City, where it
has a casino, before settling on St. Louis,
where it has no gambling operations.
"…Hinkley
said eastern Missouri offered more convenient
access for many of Isle's 15 casinos and other
gambling facilities in Missouri, Iowa, Mississippi,
Louisiana, Colorado, Florida, Grand Bahama Island
and England.
"And
Hinkley did not rule out a move by Isle into
the St. Louis casino market. The Argosy Casino
in nearby Alton, Ill., is for sale and Hinkley
indicated Isle might be interested in that riverboat
property, which recently was acquired by Penn
National Gaming Inc. in its merger with now-defunct
Argosy Gaming Co…"
