Ex-Spouses
Make Deal as Part of War Over $30M Lottery Jackpot
As reported by the CBC: "The
man who won one of the country's largest lottery
prizes has made a deal over temporary support
for his ex-wife, who is battling to try to get
half of the $30 million windfall.
"Lawyers
for Ray Sobeski and Nynna Ionson said the agreement
was reached on Wednesday in a court in London,
Ont.
"...Ionson
was going to court to try to get $9,000 a month
from Sobeski to support her while she continues
a legal suit seeking half of his Super 7 jackpot.
"...
the fight over whether Ionson is entitled to
share the jackpot will continue in the new year.
"...In
affidavits filed in court, Ionson says they
were still married and romantically involved
when Sobeski won the jackpot, which he collected
in April 2004.
"...Ionson,
a former exotic dancer who was Sobeski's third
wife, accuses him of trying to hide his lottery
win from her by waiting almost a year to collect
it.
"...Sobeski,
a former computer technician, says their marriage
was based solely on sex and claims the couple
separated long before the lottery windfall..."
