Punter Accused of Defaulting on Debts

Morning Herald: "Embattled punter and thoroughbred
owner Mark Peters faces the prospect of being warned
off racetracks around the world.
"Leading Sydney bookmaker Harry Barrett yesterday
lodged an official letter with Racing NSW asking
the ruling body to declare Peters, a principal of
the Written Bloodstock syndicate, a defaulter for
failing to pay gambling debts.
"'Under the Australian rules of racing the
ruling authority can warn a person off if it can
be proven he or she hasn't honoured their debts,'
Racing NSW chief executive Peter V'Landys said yesterday.
"…Peters is also being pursued in court
by bookmaker Con Kafataris, who alleges the punting
owner owes him about $1 million…"
