Government Releases Gambling Numbers
As reported by Bernama:
"The federal government collected more
than RM7 billion in taxes from gambling activities
between 2001 and 2004, the Dewan Rakyat was
told Thursday.
"Parliamentary Secretary to the
Finance Ministry Datuk Hilmi Yahaya said that
out of this, RM1.83 billion was collected in
2001, RM1.78 billion (2002), RM1.67 billion
(2003) and RM1.77 billion in 2004.
"He said this when replying to Tan Sri
Law Hieng Ding (BN-Sarikei) on the amount of
taxes collected annually by the government from
gambling activities…"
