Fever Erupts Over $40M Jackpot
As reported by CBC: "People
from coast to coast to coast are lining up to
buy a ticket for a chance at $40 million, the
biggest jackpot in Canadian history.
"...The
Lottery Corporation says most winners bank their
money and share it with family or friends.
"That's
what Elizabeth Wilson did.
"She
won $7.4 million two weeks ago, half of a 6/49
jackpot. She shared her prize with her four
children, five brothers, and nine grandchildren.
But even so, she says, she'll be fine.
"...The
Ontario Lottery Corporation says the equivalent
of 85 per cent of Canadians will buy a ticket
for Wednesday's 6/49 draw, even though the chances
of winning are a minuscule 1 in 14 million.
"...The
biggest winner will be the provincial lottery
coffers. Saturday's $30 million jackpot brought
in $55 million worth of tickets, but there was
no winner..."
