Pitches $400 Million Casino Resort

Herald: "The Golden Nugget Casino would
be the anchor business for a $400 million Biloxi
Boardwalk development that would employ about
3,000 people, according to plans executives
with Landry's Restaurants Inc. presented to
the Biloxi City Council today.
"It
would be an entertainment complex with family
attractions including a 150-foot-tall Ferris
wheel, multiple thrill rides dancing fountains
and an aquarium restaurant with an undersea
experience. The Golden Nugget have 60,000 square
feet of gambling space, 600 hotel rooms, a marina
with more than 100 slips and a parking garage
with 750 spots.
"…The
development would go between the Palace Casino
and the Isle of Capri Casino, which has first
rights to an option on the city-owned property
needed for the development. Executives with
the Isle, who also appeared before the City
Council on Tuesday, did not present anything
comparable to the Landry's development…"
