Patrol Confiscates Illegal Slots
As reported by the Nebraska
State Paper: "The State Patrol raided several
establishments around the state this week –
most of them in southwestern Nebraska – and
confiscated some 40 allegedly illegal video slot
machines.
"The Patrol confiscated 35 allegedly illegal
gambling machines and about $2,900 in cash from
seven businesses and one club in McCook, Indianola,
Wauneta and Holdrege during simultaneous raids onTuesday.
"Patrol Investigator Cheri Wilson said those
raids were the first on gambling devices in the
McCook area in about 10 years.
"…An illegal machine contains an internal
bookkeeping system that keeps track of money and
payouts and/or is equipped with a knock-off switch
to clear records of a player's credits or pay-outs.
"Each of the businesses could be charged with
promoting gambling and/or possession of illegal
gambling devices and records. Either charge is a
misdemeanor…"
