Boat Operators Face Indictment
As reported by the Florida Sun
News: "A married couple who once operated
casino boats in Little River and Florida were
charged in a 22-count indictment, which includes
conspiracy to commit mail fraud, wire fraud
and deprivation of honest services.
"Samuel
Gray Sr., 65, and Marilyn D. Gray, 68, of Duluth,
Ga., president and vice president of Stardancer
Casinos Inc., were charged in August with an
18-count indictment that involved tax fraud
for the period from April 2001 to November 2002,
according to Assistant U.S. Attorney William
E. Day, II.
"…The
couple was initially charged with withholding
employment taxes from Stardancer employees'
payroll checks and failing to pay those taxes
to the government, resulting in a loss to the
United States of about $1.15 million…"
