Not Ready To Call It Quits, Yet

Journal: "Despite a second major legal setback
in its effort to break into the Rhode Island
gambling market with a West Warwick casino,
Harrah's Entertainment "won't say uncle," according
to one of its top executives.
"That was the word earlier this
week from Jan Jones, the former Las Vegas mayor
who has been the face of Harrah's in Rhode Island,
since the mega-casino company put its money
behind the Narragansett Indians' casino drive.
"Commenting for the first time on the
advisory opinion, issued by the state Supreme
Court on Monday, Jones said: 'We are reading
the Supreme Court decision and making determinations
on which way we want to go, but at this moment
we don't see this as an endgame necessarily
at all.'
"The advisory opinion marked the second
time the high court has declared the legislation
setting tax rates and other terms for the proposed
West Warwick casino unconstitutional…"
