Developers
Tour Pennsylvania Casino Site
As reported by the Delco Daily
Times: "In a section of the city dominated
by large industrial facilities, it won't be

Authority met with developers at the site of
Harrah's Chester Casino and Racetrack Wednesday
for a tour of what figures to be a monumental
development for Chester and for the county.
"The 5/8-mile
track is set to host its first race in June,
with the casino expected to open around October
2006, said project manager Michael Koep, on-site
representative for the Flynn Co., which owns
the waterfront property.
"For
that to happen, Koep saidbuilders must finish
a bridge that will extend the south end of the
track out over the water, put down the running
surface and lay the infield grass.
"He
also hopes to have an eight-story parking garage
connected to the casino and an administrative
building complete by the time the track opens.
"The
most extensive part of the multimillion-dollar
development will be building the four-level
casino, which will include a restaurant, a racing
level for betting and simulcast, the casino,
a VIP lounge, clubhouses and a terrace where
patrons can sit and watch the races.
"According
to Koep, Harrah's is spending close to $1 million
per day on construction, and has already spent
approximately $8 million for demolition to bring
the site up to grade…"
