Makes Record Donation
As reported by the Kansas City
Star: "The nonprofit Rehabilitation Institute
of Kansas City later this week will be presented
with the single largest corporate donation in
its 60-year history — $237,500.
"The
money was raised through employee giving and
corporate donations at Ameristar Kansas City
Casino and Hotel — and tripled in a matching
gift by Ameristar Casinos Inc. chairman and
chief executive Craig H. Neilsen.
"…Last
year the casino donated $205,000 through a similar
matching gift by Neilsen and the company's Ameristar
Cares Workplace Giving Campaign.
"Institute
spokeswoman Dana Chatlin said most of the grant
would go toward therapy expenses for the institute's
600 to 1,000 children and adult patients a year
with strokes and other debilitating spinal cord
and brain injuries…" |
