Entertainment Releases Table Game
As reported by the St. Paul
Business Journal: "Around noon last Saturday,
12 players sat poker-faced around two tables
at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, playing Texas
Hold 'em.
"All
were hoping to win big.
"Lyle
Berman already has.
"The
Minnetonka gambling guru and CEO of Lakes Entertainment
Inc. is rolling out his company's first table
casino game.
"…Called
World Poker Tour All in Hold 'em, the game appeals
mostly to novice poker players, and is on the
floor of 15 casinos so far, including one of
Las Vegas' hottest hotels -- the Bellagio. A
World Poker Tour logo and sign brands each table.
"…Playing
off Texas Hold 'em's two-card-draw method, the
game is modified so players face off only against
the dealer, not other players at the table.
Then it's a lot like blackjack: The player 'gets
action' each hand of the game instead of once
every 10 hands or so as in regular poker, where
players often fold.
"…Berman
said he expects the game to serve as a "meaningful
revenue generator," bringing in "upward
of $4 million" in annual revenue in a few
years after the game blankets the country…"
