Want Casino Re-opened
As reported by KFOX News: "
Speaking Rock Casino was once the economic driving
force of the Tigua Indians. It's also one of
the casinos that was taken for millions of dollars.
Now, all the Tiguas want is what they were promised
--the casino re-opened.
"'Abramoff
approached the tribe back in 2002. Under the
guise that he was going to help us out by opening
the casino,' said Tigua Governor Art Senclair.
"Senclair,
says it was all a con. But he was glad to find
out Michael Scanlon, a former partner to lobbyist
Jack Abramoff and top aid to U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay,
is coming forward.
"…Senclair
says when the Casino was open, it employed 1,100
people, now only 65 of them kept their jobs.
"…
'I would say the ultimate restitution would
be to allow us to reopen our casino,' said Senclair…"
