Infant
in Car Revived After Being Left in Casino Lot
As reported by Northwest Indiana
News: "A 24-year-old woman has been charged
with neglect for leaving her 16-day-old infant
in a car in the parking lot of Resorts Casino
during the frigid weather last weekend.
"It
was just 9 degrees outside when the newborn
was discovered unresponsive in the car about
1:30 p.m. Sunday, authorities said. The baby
was successfully revived and two other children
in the car were unharmed.
"Keisha
L. Clark, of the 1600 block of West Fifth Avenue
in Gary, was arrested and charged Tuesday by
the Lake County prosecutor's office with felony
neglect of a dependent.
"Clark
told county prosecutors that she had gone to
the casino to locate the infant's father and
had not been gone more than 20 minutes.

Chicago Police Lt. Lourdes Vega-Torres said
the police first became aware of the children
when security guards at the casino spotted them
in the car out in the cold..."
