Millions Jackpot Grows to $31 Million
The excitement level is growing
in Mega Millions and so is the number of winners.
In Friday's Mega Millions drawing, a total of
428,038 tickets won prizes. But no ticket matched
all six numbers to win the $31 million jackpot.
So the estimated jackpot for the Tuesday, January
24, 2006 drawing grows to $40 million.
The
winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 18-22-28-44-53
and the Mega Ball number was 46.
Two
tickets came within a heartbeat of hitting the
jackpot. Each matched the first five numbers
and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those
tickets were purchased in California and Georgia.
Mega
Millions is played in 12 states: California,
Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts,
Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas,
Virginia and Washington.
Mega
Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays
at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time
and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
