Caesars
Palace Sports Book Takes Super Bowl Bets
Super Bowl XL is nearly two
weeks away but guests at Caesars Palace Race
and Sports Book in Las Vegas, Nevada, have an
opportunity to place a wager on the game right
now. The line at Caesars Palace currently favors
the Pittsburgh Steelers over the Seattle Seahawks
by 3.5 with the over-under set at 48. This comes
following Pittsburgh's 34-17 road victory against
the Denver Broncos and the Seahawks 34-14 home
win over the Carolina Panthers.
"We
put a tremendous amount of thought into this
game and feel we've posted the line at a figure
that should generate a lot of excitement and
good two-way action as these two teams are very
closely matched," said Assistant Vice President
of Caesars Palace Race and Sports Book Operations,
Chuck Esposito.
Caesars
Palace Race and Sports Book is one of the legendary
places in Las Vegas to watch and bet on sporting
events and football's big game is no exception.
In 1986 Caesars Palace issued a proposition
(prop) bet allowing guests to gamble on the
probability of William "The Refrigerator"
Perry scoring a touchdown. With just over three
minutes left in the third quarter, Perry took
a handoff from the one and plunged into the
end zone, making history.
"That
particular bet really propelled prop betting
to what it is at Caesars Palace today,"
Esposito said. "Instead of just the standard
prop bets that used to be available for games
such as coin toss or first points scored, our
guests now have nearly 200 unique prop bets
to choose from, mainly due to the excitement
that one prop bet generated 20 years ago."
