Wheeling
Official Says Gaming Causes Few Problems
As reported by the Herald Standard:
"While concerns have been expressed about
what legal troubles gambling could bring to
Fayette County, an official who has dealt with
the impact of gaming in Wheeling said the addition
of slots has not caused any problems in West
Virginia.
"With
the occasional issue of traffic snarls that
occur mainly on the weekends, Wheeling City
Manager Robert Herron said expanded gaming at
the Wheeling Island casino has been a boon.
"'There
are no police issues at all,' Herron said.
"...Herron
said there 'haven't been any negatives' to gaming
in the area..."
