Against Oregon Poker Games
As reported by the Oregon Register-Guard:
"Police have found no reason to fold Texas
hold 'em poker games offered at three local
taverns during the past few months.
"No
complaints have been received by Springfield
police since the City Council voted in August
to allow businesses to host tournament-style
poker, Police Chief Jerry Smith said.
"When
the gaming ordinance was approved, it marked
the first time social gambling had been allowed
in Springfield in more than 10 years. Smith
will provide a six-month program update at Tuesday
night's City Council meeting.
"Three
businesses - Shakers, the Pour House and the
Woodsman - have regular games, while six additional
establishments have obtained city licenses to
host Texas hold 'em tournaments…"
