Resort Unveils Details Of Expansion
One of Reno's largest
resort properties announced details of its $230
million expansion plan today.
A new 17-story, 600-room curved glass
tower will increase capacity at the south Reno
Peppermill Hotel-Casino to 1,625 rooms, a spokesman
for the property said.
Construction is expected to start next month
and be completed by September 2007.
Tuscan-themed suites with large-screen plasma
televisions are planned and the Tuscan-themed
lobby will serve as a new entry to the resort
on Reno's main casino area, Virginia Street.
A 14,000-square-foot casino expansion, expected
to be completed by next August, would increase
the total square footage to 94,000. The casino
will add 300 new slot machines, increasing the
total to 1,900, and 12 new table games, increasing
the total to 60.
The company also plans new restaurants and
lounges, cafes, an arcade and a new 1,600-space
parking garage. The resort also will add a 10,000-square-foot,
two-story nightclub overlooking the pool area,
a 50,000-square-foot convention center and a
spa, salon and fitness center.
