One Bid
Submitted for Natchez Casino
As reported by the Natchez Democrat:
"City officials late Wednesday opened the
only bid they received for a casino at the riverside
Roth Hill site, almost two months after the
city sent out a request for proposals for a
hotel and/or casino — but details of the
proposal were kept under wraps.
"The
proposal, which city officials had agreed to
keep confidential, was discussed behind closed
doors at the office of City Attorney Walter
Brown. But Brown later disclosed the proposal
was submitted by David Kennedy of Windsor Financial
Group and Artie Armstrong, both of Jackson,
on behalf of a New York-based company called
Expect a Miracle Inc.
"…However,
the state requires developers to invest at least
as much in land-based amenities as they do in
their casinos, and the city has been courting
companies to develop a hotel across Canal Street
from the convention center for many months now…"
