to be a gambler's online paradise. No ante is
required, the topics of the bets range from
baseball games to gasoline prices, and the only
thing that can be lost is a bit of pride.
"And so far, there have been
no problems with the country's strict gambling
laws.
"These 'prediction' Web sites operate
on a system that uses points.
"The services are similar to sites that
give out prizes for winners in quizzes and lotteries.
But the prediction sites have the spirit of
gambling because more points are gained for
betting against the odds.
"The points can later be exchanged for
money or goods. But even the site operators
say they are turning up winners…"
