Monticello
Raceway, Horsemen Sign Agreement
Empire Resorts, Inc. today announced
that the company has come to an agreement with
its horsemen to have the New York Racing and
Wagering Board arbitrate terms of a new contract.
As a result, out-of-state simulcasting will
resume early next week, and purses will double.
The horsemen will also receive 7.5% of net revenue
received from the company's video gaming machine
(VGM) operations during the arbitration process.
David
P. Hanlon, Empire's President and CEO, commented,
"We are very pleased with these developments
and look forward to working through arbitration
with our horsemen - some of the best in the
business. Empire Resorts has already set up
racing dates through June, which should be a
welcome relief to our fans and patrons. We are
grateful to New York State Racing and Wagering
Chairwoman Cheryl Ritchko-Buley and Commissioner
Michael Hoblock for their leadership in helping
to bring this matter to a successful conclusion."
Separately,
Empire Resorts also announced that it has launched
new websites for its raceway and VGM operations.
Information on Monticello Raceway and Mighty
M Gaming can now be found at the company's portal
web site, EmpireResorts.com.
