Regulator Removed

of Atlantic City: "Acting Gov. Richard
J. Codey removed the casino industry's chief
regulator from her seat on the Casino Reinvestment
Development Authority board Monday in an apparent
attempt to quell opposition to his choice to
take over the authority.
"The CRDA board could vote as
soon as today to approve Labor Commissioner
and former Casino Association President Tom
Carver as its new executive director. Carver
would replace Cape May hotel owner Curtis Bashaw,
who resigned last week.
"Casino Control Commission Chair Linda
Kassekert, a CRDA board member, sought to block
Carver's appointment. She requested a search
committee be formed to find Bashaw's replacement.
The move would delay the selection of a new
director long enough to leave the decision in
the hands of the next governor. Codey leaves
office in January.
"…Codey is expected to appoint Casino
Control Commission board member Michael Fedorko
to replace Kassekert on the CRDA board.

takes root in a long running feud with Camden
County political power broker George E. Norcross
