Alamo
Poker Tour Has First Winner
AlamoPoker.com -- The Home of
Texas Hold 'Em is setting the standards for
land based poker tournaments with the conclusion
of the first event on the Alamo Poker Tour.
Alamo Poker's formula of celebrities, pros and
locals playing poker together for a great cause
is a winning one.
More
than 100 entrants including professional poker
players such as Marcel Luske "The Flying
Dutchman," professional athletes Dan "Hollywood"
Henderson of UFC fame and Carlos Polk of the
San Diego Chargers along with a variety of celebrities
including guitarist Don Felder of the legendary
Eagles joined together for two days of competitive
Texas Hold 'Em play for cash money and charity
in Palm Springs, CA. Included in this mix were
a number of players who entered to play by winning
on-line free rolls held by AlamoPoker.com The
tournament was won by Circle of Outlaws pro
Eric Mizrachi.
"I
was looking forward to a competitive event and
hoping the mix of pros', celebrities, sports
stars and regular folks would make for something
special but I am surprised how the formula worked
to create so much fun. We filmed the tournament
to air on TV this spring and with the great
mix at the final table the program should be
truly entertaining. Being that poker programming
is so popular on TV it will be rewarding to
give these viewers something well worth watching,"
said J. Fisch Marketing Director for AlamoPoker.com
and its brands. "Most important is that
the event was for charity and Cystic Fibrosis
should really be the beneficiary of the tournament.
I'm looking forward to raising money for the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at future events."
The
Alamo Poker Tour moves onto San Antonio for
the next tournament. The date February 18, 2006
and will coincide with the San Antonio Stock
Show & Rodeo.
