Harrah's
New Orleans Plan Reopening
As reported by the Louisiana
Times-Picayune: "Harrah's New Orleans Casino
will reopen next year, but an exact date and
the number of employees who will be needed remain
unknown.
"'The
question is, what level of business will the
casino have to support a work force?' said Anthony
Sanfilippo, president of Harrah's central division.
"Harrah's
told employees in a letter this week that the
casino would reopen in 2006 after it finishes
repairing damage wrought by Hurricane Katrina.
The casino suffered damage to its roof and mold
from water leaks.
"The
drop-off in tourism activity in the city also
complicates the reopening of Harrah's.
"…Sanfilippo
said the top priority is establishing an opening
date, and then the casino can determine 'the
amount of staff needed to be able to open and
support the facility'…"
