Police Officials Fired for Allowing Gambling

Today: "Philippine National Police Chief
Dir. Gen. Arturo Lomibao relieved yesteday the
Nueva Vizcaya provincial police chief and the
chief of the Solano town police for their failure
to stop jueteng in their jurisdiction.
"Lomibao
said he will not hesitate to relieve any police
officer found guilty of allowing illegal gambling
operations in their areas even if these are
backed-up by politicians.
"…Relieved
were Nueva Vizcaya provincial director Senior
Supt. Robert Mamaril Manggacat and Solano police
director Chief Insp. Francisco de Guzman Palattao.
"Manggacat
was replaced by Supt. Agripino Lopez as officer-in-charge
of Nueva Vizcaya while Supt. Domingo Lucas was
designated as officer-in-charge of the Solano
police.
"The
relief of Manggacat and Palattao came a day
after special teams from the PNP's anti-illegal
gambling special operations task force arrested
15 persons in the act of conducting a jueteng
lottery in Barangay Washington in Solano at
11:30 a.m. Monday…"
