Posts College Football Odds
With the college football regular
season winding down the stakes have kicked into
high gear. This weekend features a slew of classic
rivalries that will go a long way in deciding
the fate of the nation's top programs as they
fight for conference bragging rights and a ticket
to one of the lucrative BCS Bowl Games. Sportsbook.com
has posted lines on all the key games this week,
including crucial battles in the Big Ten, SEC
and ACC.
In
the SEC, all eyes will be on the 'Iron Bowl'
classic between Auburn and Alabama. The eleventh
ranked Auburn Tigers celebrated a stunning victory
over Georgia last week, and a win against archrival
Alabama at home Saturday can clinch a share
of the SEC West title for the Tigers. But the
eighth ranked Crimson Tide will not go down
without a fight as they are also still in the
running for the SEC title. Home field advantage
may be the deciding factor in this game with
Sportsbook.com listing the Tigers as a 7.0 point
favorite.
Ninth
ranked Ohio State faces seventeenth ranked Michigan
in a storied Big Ten rivalry. Both teams are
looking to keep pace with fifth ranked Penn
State in hopes of capturing the Big Ten crown.
Ohio State is favored by a field goal at Ann
Arbor while Penn State enters its game at Michigan
State as a 7.5 point bet.
In
the ACC, Virginia Tech is tied with Miami for
first place in the Coastal Division, but will
need to win its final two games and have the
Hurricanes lose one of their remaining two contests
to reach the ACC championship game. The seventh
ranked Hokies face state rivals Virginia on
the road and are favored by a touchdown while
the third ranked Hurricanes are an 18.0 point
bet at home to Georgia Tech. With second ranked
Texas off this week, Miami is hoping that the
number one ranked team in the country, USC,
falters at home to Fresno State, opening the
door for Miami to potentially sneak into the
BCS Championship game. USC has won 33 straight
games and 25 straight at home.
"A
USC versus Texas Rose Bowl match-up seems unstoppable
at this stage," says Peter Childs, Odds
Maker, Sportsbook.com. "But there are so
many huge games this week. This is where seasons
come to an end for a lot of schools. College
football fans are very demanding and for many
of these programs anything short of a conference
title or a berth to a high profile Bowl game
is unacceptable."
Sportsbook.com
also continues to post odds on the potential
USC versus Texas championship game. The Longhorns
are 6.5 point underdogs but 65 per cent of all
bets to date have been placed on Texas to cover
the spread.
