Gaming Partners International
Corporation (Nasdaq: GPIC) today announced that
Gerard P. Charlier, the company's Chief Executive
Officer, has presented a check for $50,000 to
Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., President and CEO
of the American Gaming Association, for the
Gaming Industry Katrina Relief Fund. Mr. Charlier
was joined in the presentation by the company's
Gulf Coast Area sales manager, Jena Cuevas,
who resides in Gulfport, MS and fortunately
survived the storm. The presentation was made
at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas.
The goal of the fund is to provide disaster
relief and assistance to the affected gaming
employees in Mississippi and Louisiana.
In making the contribution, Charlier
commented: "Everyone has been deeply affected
by the scenes of mass loss, suffering and deprivation
caused by this devastating storm. In particular,
we note the many industry employees on the Gulf
Coast who have been profoundly impacted by this
disaster, and are pleased to join in this industry
wide effort. We are also very sensitive to this
tragedy as our sales employee and our casino
customers have suffered losses. As our name
indicates, Gaming Partners is committed to partnership
with our industry, and we are working to help
the affected families restore their lives and
to speed the recovery of the casinos and local
economy."
