Judge:
Emerald Casino License Should Be Revoked
As reported by the Chicago Sun-Times:
"Emerald Casino Inc. should be stripped
of its long-dormant gaming license in part because
of lies and excuses made by the company's top
management, the judge considering the company's
license-revocation case ruled today.
"Emerald
had been trying to build a casino in Rosemont,
but the Illinois Gaming Board derailed the project
because of Emerald's management problems and
alleged mob links that two of the company's
shareholders had. The ruling by former federal
appellate judge Abner Mikva, who's acting as
the hearing officer in the case, now goes to
the Illinois Gaming Board for final approval.
If the Gaming Board agrees, it would result
in the company's gaming license finally being
revoked after years in dispute.
"…If
the license is revoked, they have the option
of appealing the decision in the courts…"
