Press: "In a case with broad implications
for the casino industry -- the US Supreme Court
says a California resident can sue in his home
state claiming false advertising and deceptive
business practices by a Nevada casino.
"The
court without comment let stand a California
Supreme Court ruling that even though Harrah's
Entertainment had no properties in California,
it could be sued there because it advertised
in California and received a lot of business
from Californians.
"...Frank
Snowney claimed deceptive business practices,
breach of contract and unjust enrichment he
was assessed a three-dollar energy surcharge
that he says wasn't disclosed when he booked
the room..."
