Panel:
New York County Can't Handle Casinos

News: "The creation of casinos in Sullivan
County could preclude their own doom, predicted
Michael Edelstein, President of Orange Environment.
"Edelstein
was one of three on a panel who addressed the
potential impact Sullivan County casinos would
have on Orange County, at a gathering in Goshen,
attended by about 40, including several Orange
County lawmakers and some town and village officials.
"The
consensus: Orange County's existing transportation
infrastructure is already approaching capacity,
and the county is the fastest growing in the
state, without up to five casinos moving in
next door, in Sullivan, the second fastest growing
county.
"Edelstein
says that could pose a significant dilemma for
backers of any casinos…"
