Faces Global Expulsion
As reported by the Sydney
Morning Herald: "Embattled punter and thoroughbred
owner Mark Peters is facing expulsion from racetracks
around the world after being served with a show
cause notice by Racing NSW because of gambling
debts.
"The ruling body's chief executive,
Peter V'Landys, said yesterday that Peters,
who is involved in The Written Bloodstock Syndicate
with businessman Larry King, had been asked
to appear before the Racing NSW board on October
7.
"Peters could face a disqualification
that would prevent him entering any racecourse
or stable premise worldwide, and would stop
him owning his vast team of horses, including
broodmares.
"…Peters told the Herald last night
that 'payments were stopped to Mr Barrett as
I believe there are circumstances unfair to
myself, as well as, I believe, to be contrary
to the rules of racing'.
"…Peters and King have severed ties
in several of The Written Bloodstock horses
in the past two weeks, including Written Tycoon,
which was sold, and Battle Maiden, with Peters
saying recently that he and King 'don't see
eye to eye in regards to the future training
of the horses'…"
