List
of Casino Hopefuls Released
As reported by the Evening Sun:
"The field is set in the race for Pennsylvania
slots licenses, and a proposed Gettysburg-area
casino will be competing with seven other plans
for stand-alone slots parlors.
"The
state Gaming Control Board revealed the names
of all casino applicants Monday, and the Gettysburg
investors will compete with two plans in the
Poconos, two in the Lehigh Valley, one in Lancaster
and another in Montgomery County. An eighth
applicant is proposing a stand-alone casino
in western Pennsylvania, but gaming board spokesman
Nick Hays said the application is unclear about
the exact site.
"The
Gettysburg-area plan, submitted by a group of
investors led by local businessman David LeVan,
calls for a stand-alone parlor at routes 15
and 30 called the Crossroads Gaming Resort and
Spa.
"The
seven-member gaming board will spend at least
several months deciding where the slots parlors
should go..."
