Passes on Biloxi Market
As reported by the Biloxi
Sun Herald: "Ameristar Casinos tested the water,
but decided against plunging into Biloxi's highly
competitive market.
"The company will reinvest in its properties
instead of putting a new resort on the tip of the
Biloxi Peninsula. The proposed location, a city
block between the Palace Casino and First Street,
will continue to be offered to developers.
"Ameristar, which has a business strategy
of being the market leader wherever it operates
a casino, is spending $150 million to upgrade its
property in Vicksburg, where new competitors are
proposing two casinos…"
