Bodog.com
CEO on Cover of Canadian Business
Bodog.com's Founder & CEO,
Calvin Ayre, appears as the subject of the cover
story in the latest issue of Canadian Business,
Canada's leading magazine for commerce leaders,
entrepreneurs and innovators.
"This
feature article in Canadian Business is good
for Bodog.com and good for our industry,"
Mr. Ayre says. "Being open and transparent
with the media sets a strong example for the
online gaming industry, and serves as another
tool to educate and inform our players about
our company."
Mr.
Ayre, a resident of Costa Rica, sat down with
John Gray of Canadian Business in late September
for a three-hour interview at the Bodog-owned
Quay lounge in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The interview marks the first time an online
gaming CEO has been featured on the cover of
a mainstream business publication in North America.
In
this extensive and revealing article, the billionaire
philanthropist and industry leader talks about
everything from his humble beginnings to his
secrets and successes.
Of
particular interest to Mr. Gray is Bodog.com's
effective approach to branding. The magazine
writes: When it comes to getting attention for
your brand, Ayre knows using celebrities is
a sure bet…While hitching your brand to
a celebrity star may be old hat in most industries,
in the online gaming world it is revolutionary.
Mr.
Ayre is currently in London attending the eGaming
Review Industry Awards – an annual event
hosted by the influential eGaming Review magazine
to recognize the world's online gaming movers
and shakers. Bodog.com is up for five awards,
including Operator of the Year.
