"A New Orleans storm victim who spent just
$4.25 in a slot machine has won a $1.6 million
jackpot.
"The woman was en route to a
discount store when she stopped to play at Louisiana's
Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino yesterday.
"'I am a casino fanatic; it relaxes my
nerves,' Jacquelyn Sherman said.
"…Sherman had been sleeping on her
sister's floor in Opelousas, Louisiana, since
Hurricane Katrina ravaged her house and killed
hundreds of New Orleans residents in late August…"
