South
Carolina Courts to Hear Appeal
As reported by the Myrtle Beach
Sun News: "The state Supreme Court will
hear Georgetown County's appeal of a lower-court
ruling that said the county could not ban casino
boats.
"The
appeal comes even though the state passed a
law last year allowing counties or cities to
regulate or ban casino boats. The court also
heard an appeal last week in a similar case
from Edisto Beach.
"Oral
arguments in the Georgetown County case are
set for 10 a.m. Feb. 14.
"County
Attorney Mac Tolar said he was excited that
the high court will hear the case but declined
further comment…"
