Kansas Leaders Discuss Kansas Casino

As reported by the Wellington Daily News; "Some Wellington community leaders met this morning with Bob Knight, developer and former Wichita mayor, and Gary Armentrout, chief development officer for Foxwoods Development Company, to discuss their vision for putting a destination casino in south central Kansas.

"Knight said there are rumors going around that they are playing the different counties in the area against each other. He said they were approached by more than three counties, which have shown a lot of enthusiasm for the project and they are simply looking for evidence for the best location for the casino.

"Knight had brief comments about the casino being proposed by a different group, which would be placed in the Century II area.

"…Knight also said he wanted community leaders to meet with who the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska is partnering with. It was explained at the meeting that the tribe is partnering with Foxwoods Development Company, which was established by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation…"
