Agree to Union Contract
As reported by the Columbian:
"The Cowlitz Tribe has agreed to use only
union workers to construct a proposed $510 million
casino-hotel complex near La Center.
"Cowlitz
officials announced Monday that the 22-member
tribal council has approved a project labor
agreement with the Columbia Pacific Building
Trades Council.

Mohlis, president of the Portland-based trade
council that represents 25 different crafts,
said the agreement will ensure that local construction
workers are used and their families will receive
health benefits.
"…Construction
alone would create 4,011 jobs paying an average
of $46,200 a year, for a construction payroll
of $185.3 million…"
