Favors Chargers
The San Diego Chargers
welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers for the fifth
Monday Night Football game of the season. Bodog.com
lists the Chargers as 3-point favorites.
"The Steelers, still nursing
their wounds after their first loss of the season
to the New England Patriots, will be back in
full force to take on the explosive Chargers,
" says Calvin Ayre, Founder and CEO of
Bodog.com. "The AFC is tough and these
are both very good teams who want to prove they
are at the head of the class in the conference."
After a momentous wín against the injury-plagued
New England Patriots, running back LaDainian
Tomlinson and the Chargers (2-2) will look to
pounce on quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and
the visiting Steelers. Coming off a bye, the
Steelers (2-1) have had two weeks to stew over
their aggravating 23-20 loss to the Patriots.
Pittsburgh will need all the energy and grit
it has to hold off the prolific San Diego offense.
In other Week 5 games, quarterback Alex Smith
makes his first career start for the San Francisco
49ers, replacing Tim Rattay. Smith, the No.
1 overall pick in this year's draft, takes the
reins of an offense that was pitiful in a 31-14
loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Mexico City
on Sunday. The task for Smith and the Niners
isn't easy. They face Peyton Manning and the
unflappable Indianapolis Colts, who are 4-0
and a 15-point favorite over San Francisco.
Sunday evening features two emerging AFC powers
as the Cincinnati Bengals (4-0) visit the Jacksonville
Jaguars (2-2). The Bengals, coming off a 16-10
wín over the Houston Texans, will look
to remain undefeated while the Jaguars want
to rebound from a 20-7 loss to the Denver Broncos.
Bodog Bookmakers have the Jaguars as 3-point
favorites.
