Casino Advocates Donate to Legislators
As reported by the Kentucky
Courier-Journal: "A horse-industry group
leading this year's push for casino gambling
at racetracks donated $66,000 during the last
three months to state party caucuses and most
of the state's legislators, according to campaign
finance records.
"The
Kentucky Equine Education Project's political
action committee gave between $500 and $1,000
to 90 of the state's 137 legislators, according
to its quarterly report received by the Kentucky
Registry of Election Finance yesterday.
"Six
of the legislators returned the contributions,
according to the report.
"The
General Assembly, which began its annual session
yesterday, is expected to consider whether Kentuckians
should be allowed to vote on expanding gambling…"
