Mexico Releases
Data on Gambling Permits
The Mexican government made
its complete list of valid gaming and raffles permits
(including horse racetracks, dog tracks and jai
alai frontons) and permit holders, based on the
Federal Gaming and Raffles Law of 1947, public on
August 4. The Secretariat of Government (Gobernación)
posted the names and information on the web page
of its Deputy General Directorate of Gaming and
Raffles (in Spanish).
The list includes 22 master permit holders,
with data on their businesses, the individual owners,
legal representatives, corporations and stockholders.
Management executives responsible for operations
are also named. In most cases addresses are provided,
and in a few e-mail and telephone numbers are included.
The date each permit was issued is shown, as is
the number of years of the concession and the date
it will expire. Modifications allowed since original
permits were issued are listed chronologically.
New permits granted on March 17 and April 29, 2005,
also have links to the actual authorizations.
Names and addresses for each establishment authorized
according to the 22 permits are listed. The total
number of authorized nationwide parlors and facilities
according to each permit is shown, as is the tally
of those currently in operation.
Some annual audit, tax and financial data are attached.
The information has been released in accordance
with Mexico's Federal Transparency and Access to
Governmental Public Information Law.
