Casino Prepares for Move
As reported by the Tenerife
News: "The days of Puerto de la Cruz's
Casino Taoro are numbered. The popular gambling
attraction is set to move down from its present
perch overlooking the town, to its new home
in the waterfront Lago de Martiánez,
in June.
"As
far as visitors are concerned, the new location
in the heart of the resort will be a boon, but
the limited parking possibilities in the area,
compared with those of the Parque de Taoro,
have been a cause for some concern within the
managing company.
"The
Casino's management is said to be considering
a whole raft of different transport possibilities
for customers, among them the idea of purchasing
a fleet of electric cars to ferry gamblers between
the Lago and the Pirámides de Martiánez
car park. The existing agreement with Puerto's
taxi drivers by which customers get a free ride
will continue as before…"
