Boyd
Gaming's Delta Downs Casino to Reopen
Boyd Gaming Corporation today
announced that its Delta Downs Racetrack Casino
and Hotel in Vinton, Louisiana is scheduled
to reopen on November 3, pending regulatory
approval. While the casino will be fully operational,
the Company expects to have a limited number
of hotel rooms and food outlets available at
that time, with the balance coming on line by
the end of the year. The Company also expects
that horseracing at Delta Downs will begin shortly
after the first of the year as repair work on
those facilities continues. As previously reported,
the property suffered both wind and water damage
as a result of Hurricane Rita and has been closed
since September 22.
Bill Boyd, Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer of Boyd Gaming Corporation,
said, "The revitalization of the Lake Charles
area is well underway and we look forward to
furthering that effort and welcoming back our
employees and guests. With the re-opening of
Treasure Chest on October 10 and Delta Downs
set for November 3, we will soon have all of
our Louisiana operations functioning following
the recent storms."
The
Company will report its third quarter results
on Thursday, November 3 and hold a conference
call on that day at 4:15 p.m. EST. Among other
things, the Company will discuss the financial
impact of both hurricanes relative to its Louisiana
operations.
