Hoya, Casino Plan to Continue Deal
As reported by the Tuscon Citizen:
"Six-time boxing world champion Oscar De
La Hoya provided quite a buzz yesterday at Desert
Diamond Casino in discussing Saturday's Boxing
World Cup.
"He and
the casino are hoping to continue their boxing
card relationship for another year.
"…All
parties are optimistic that a new deal will
occur, with De La Hoya saying, 'In principle
we are pleased to come back and do more fights
here.'
"Those
cards will be hard to match Saturday's Boxing
World Cup, which pits some of Mexico's best
lighter weight division fighters against those
from Thailand in four WBO world title fights.
It is one of De La Hoya's most ambitious cards
as a promoter…"
