Holiday Wagering Up
As reported by Business First:
"Turfway Park wagering galloped into the
new year with increases during the holiday period
in 2004.
"Turfway's
2005 Holiday Meet closed Dec. 31, posting mostly
double-digit improvements, the park said in
a news release.
"Wagering
rose to $74.3 million, jumping 37.7 percent
over the previous year. Out-of-state play hit
$66 million, up 41.2 percent, and on-track betting
increased 21.8 percent to $3.2 million…"
