Offers Odds On Olympics
The opening ceremonies for the
Olympic Winter Games in Turin, Italy will kick
off in eight days with more than 2500 athletes
from 85 nations set to compete for 84 Olympic
medals. Sportsbook.com, the world's largest
online sportsbook and casino, is now offering
bettors the chance to wager on a host of interesting
Olympic props from the country with the highest
medal count to the winner of the men's Olympic
hockey tournament.
Odds
makers have set 28.5 as the over/under number
of total medals for the U.S. delegation. Odds
on the U.S. leading the medal count in Turin
are 9-5, behind only Germany at 5-9. Norway
at 3-1, Russia, Austria and host country Italy
follow behind, all with odds of 20-1. Rounding
out the favorites is Canada with odds of 30-1
to take home the most Olympic hardware.
The
most medals the US has ever won in one Winter
Olympic Games was 34 in 2002 at the Salt Lake
City games, including 10 gold medals.
The
favorites to capture the most Gold Medals are
Germany and Norway (5-4), followed by the U.S.
(7-2), Russia (11-2) and Canada (25-1). Great
Britain, Denmark, Poland and the Czech Republic
are long-shots, all with odds of 1000-1.

has also posted odds on American downhill star
Bode Miller's gold medal chances. Odds on Bode
to win one gold medal currently sit at 7-4,
two gold at 9-2, and three gold at 20-1. Odds
on Miller getting shut out of a gold medal are
4-7.
In
the high profile Men's Olympic Hockey Tournament,
Canada is favored to repeat its gold medal performance
of 2002 with odds of 6-5. Other strong contenders
for hockey gold are the Czech Republic (3-1),
Sweden (4-1) and Russia (11-2), while the U.S.
sits back at 10-1.
