Kansas
Casino Hauled Away
As reported by the Kansas City
Star: "Mobile building units that once
housed a tribal casino in downtown Kansas City,
Kan., were hauled away Wednesday.
"'This

for the Wyandotte Nation that operated the 7th
Street Casino.
"City
and state officials have challenged the tribal-owned
casino site's de facto reservation status since
it was granted by the federal government in
the mid-1990s.
"In
August 2003, the tribe defied government officials
and opened the casino in several linked mobile
building units parked beside the tribe's Huron
Indian Cemetery across the street from City
Hall…"
