Awarded to Fight Under-Aged Gambling
As reported by the Kansas City
Star: "Three Missouri nonprofits this year
will share $160,000 in grants from the Kansas
City Port Authority to combat under-aged gambling.
"...The
largest grant, $93,938, goes to the George Warren
Brown School of Social Work at Washington University
in St. Louis, to conduct research on the scope
of the youth gambling problem in Missouri.
"Renee
Cunningham-Williams, a visiting associate professor,
said researchers will interview hundreds of
young people ages 14 through 25 to establish
prevalence rates for youthful gambling addiction
and to learn more about how, why and at what
age they started gambling..."
