Intertops.com
Offers New Option
A leading online gaming company,
Intertops.com, is offering a unique proposition
bet that it calls "The Texas Two-Step".
The
prop is based on a sequence of events which
has never been achieved: a football and basketball
team from the same school -- in this case, University
of Texas -- winning both the BCS (Bowl Championship
Series) football championship, and capturing
first place in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
Optimists
who believe the Longhorns' teams will achieve
this heretofore mission impossible can hoe-down
their way to a nifty profit of $15 for every
$1 wagered should the Texans end up wearing
both crowns. Those from neighboring archrival
State of Oklahoma and other naysayers who think
the parlay is too farfetched can lay odds of
20 to win one.
The
school's football team is undefeated, ranked
#2 in the nation, and is on track to compete
in the Title Game vs. defending National Champions,
the University of Southern California, in the
Rose Bowl on January 4, 2006.
Meanwhile,
the Longhorns' basketball team is loaded with
talent this year and picked by many experts
to reach the "Final Four" once March
Madness is upon us. To win the title, Texas
would have to run the table in the Tournament.
This
is the latest in a series of challenging and
innovative wagers conjured up by the oddsmaker
at Intertops.com to give sports enthusiasts
and recreational bettors something more to ponder
than the same old, same old.
